All tiles are hand painted by the artist, then fired in a kiln at over 1820
degrees. One-quarter inch Italian quarry tile is used for the tile reproductions
unless otherwise specified. Tiles come with a masonite backing and are designed
to be hung on a wall or used as a trivet. Backing can be removed by soaking
the tile in water for at least 48 hours.
Some of the designs and colors used are exact replications of the traditional
6x6 tiles and murals; others are the artist's own creations. Tiles like the
Casino and the Holly Hill House are examples of her work. Murals are available
with or without borders and come mounted on three-quarter-inch plywood. We will
include installation instructions if unmounted tiles are requested. Through
freezer testing it has been determined that tiles can withstand sub-zero temperatures.
However, we recommend you check with your local tile setter before installing
tile outdoors in cold climates.
