The Catalina Bird Park, built in 1929, covered 8 acres of land, had more than 8,000 species of exotic birds and the world's largest aviary. The bird images in our series are all reproductions from sections of the Catalina tile bird murals that decorated walls in the park.
All 6"x 6" tiles are hand painted and kiln fired in California by an artist who has deep ties to the Island. She produces each piece with exceptional care.
